Dr. Diane H. Bryan, PhD

On-Site Crisis Intervention & Certified Professional Training

Dr. Diane Bryan has served the therapeutic community for 35 years as a crisis intervention therapist. She has worked in direct care, day treatment, residential treatment, in the forensic system, the de-institutionalization of the mentally ill and the population with intellectual disabilities for the states of New Mexico and New York, helped design and implement the Ombudsmen Program for northern New Mexico, and as a lead member of the Crisis Intervention Team at several hospitals.

Dr. Bryan is state licensed in New Mexico and Texas and runs her own private practice, On-Site Crisis Intervention. In addition, she holds several national certifications in bilateral stimulation and addiction counseling, with a PhD in clinical Psychology from Walden University, a MS in Behavioral Psychology from the University of Long Island, and a BS in Family Studies from Arizona State University.

Dr. Bryan is an ordained minister and offers spiritual counseling and guidance. She has also served as an adjunct professor for the U. S. Army Sergeants Major Academy teaching eight-week courses: Understanding Families From a Global Perspective, Theories of Personality, Sociology, Understanding the Learning of Behavior, Abnormal Psychology and Military Psychology. She has also taught various courses in psychology and counseling at several universities.

Her life opened up to horses in 1972 when she moved from Connecticut to New Mexico, and two of her children had horses and one had a donkey. From then on, it was a matter of adding more and more to her herd, which now consists of thirteen horses, 12 donkeys and 3 colts born this spring. Her life centers around her equine activities: therapy and equine assistance is like peanut butter and jelly for her; they just go together.

After a long career, Dr. Bryan has established an impressive record of working and successfully treating people who have experienced life-debilitating trauma. She developed Rapid Emotional Detox, her own theoretical construct for a Non-talking Bilateral Stimulation therapy to help free people from their nightmares, flashbacks, and general demobilization due to issues related to trauma they have experienced. Her treatment center offers programs that foster holistic and spiritual healing as well, encouraging personal growth by using various alternative modalities. Dr. Bryan loves to combine Rapid Emotional Detox for trauma patients with Equine Therapy. She allows the “magic of horses” to lead her clients to relief from pain and sorrow while the detox transforms the irrationally stored memory to a rational neutral memory.

Dr. Bryan is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society for Personality Assessment, the National Association for Drug and Alcohol Counselors, the Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing International Association and the American Psychotherapy Association.
